I am old enough to remember when Japanese, then Korean cars, were considered a joke. I drove the first Excel - oy, the panel gaps. But now a Hyundai Sonata is a solid bet in its class. Somehow, though, I think the Chinese will never get that good. I can't explain why. Possibly it's the way their economy was designed. We'll see.
